Augmented reality is a technology phenomenon in which you can look through a phone or computer camera and graphics are superimposed onto your view depending on what you are looking at. At the time when I made this painting, I was collaborating on a project involving using augmented reality for Android. The conversation in this painting was taken from an actual video chat I had with my boyfriend, in which I was lamenting the loss of his beard.
